The video was directed by Kevin McKeown:

“I knew Mental Deficiency before they were Mental Deficiency, but not before they were mentally deficient. We shared a passion for filmmaking and the guys were instrumental in helping me through some of my earliest attempts in the discipline. Upon hearing that they had formed a band I was thoroughly nonplussed, but when I finally saw them I was drawn to their irreverent attitude, energetic stage show and chiselled, athletic physiques. Like most people in the audience, I wanted to see them naked. This video was my way of getting them naked. You are welcome.”

MD Guitarist Alex Kazam:

“When Kev came to us with the concept for the video we knew we definitely wanted to do it. We’ve recently been taking inspiration from cigarette manufacturers, alcohol companies and religion with their philosophy of, ’get ‘em while they’re young.’ After watching some children’s television and the music channels pre-watershed we discovered that popular acts such as Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Britney Spears are completely free to flaunt their bodies and sexuality in their music videos and lyrics. In our quest to create life-long Mental Deficiency fans we decided that emulating the pop stars of today was the right direction to take. Hopefully, children’s television across the world will soon be broadcasting us shaking our behinds just like today’s biggest pop acts.”

Mental Deficiency to Support Alestorm in Belfast

Continuing the trend of supporting international touring bands such as Electric Six and The Rubberbandits, we’re very pleased to announce that we’ll be opening for swashbuckling heroes ALESTORM as they land in Belfast on February 11th at Queen’s SU!

This is the second gig we’ll be playing at for RAGNAROCK, one of Belfast’s best rock and metal club nights. They play our tunes on a regular basis and have been very supportive of our music. A big thank you to them and to ALESTORM for requesting for us to be let out for the night to play this gig! Also joining us on the night will be Claim The Throne from Australia!
